In meeting Ledcor's needs, our commitment is to do so without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. We will achieve this by investigating risks, opportunities, and impacts on our employees, clients, partners, and other stakeholders in the many communities, ecosystems, and economies where we operate.
We are committed to putting safety first, creating diverse and inclusive workplaces. Investing in our employees, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting the communities in which we work.
We are dedicated to protecting the environment by minimizing our adverse impact on land, water, air, and ecosystems in which we operate.
We continually embrace and encourage sustainability practices to support our objective of responsible economic growth.
The following areas outline how this commitment has been integrated into our Mission, Values and Guiding Principles.
Our most important asset is our people. Our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) Management System provides the framework to promote physical, psychological, and social wellbeing and to protect our employees, our workplaces, and our environment.
We promote a work environment that inspires all team members to be their authentic selves at work. We know that a strong commitment to Inclusion and Diversity will enrich our culture, our workforce, and the industries and sectors where we operate.
As individuals from different backgrounds, we can tackle challenges together and promote innovation. As a team, we can work to uphold an inclusive and safe environment where differences are embraced, and diverse ideas are welcomed.
Our teams are committed to making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work, ensuring we leave behind more than just a job well done.
Embedded in our company culture is the Ledcor Cares spirit. That spirit comes from a desire to assist others in need and to help move our communities forward by coming together for organizations that have a place in our hearts.
For decades, Ledcor has actively engaged with Indigenous communities across Canada, building relationships, establishing long-term beneficial partnerships, and helping our clients meet their commitments to communities. As proud members of associations like the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). Working with Indigenous businesses wherever possible is a key pillar of our commitment to Indigenous engagement.
Our people are the heart of Ledcor. We use the term True Blue to explain what it means to be part of the Ledcor team—it is the bond we share through our common beliefs, work ethic, and drive to get things done. True Blue celebrates our people, our values, how we work together, care about each other, and share a passion for the work we do. We invest in our employees as partners in the success of the company.
Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is one of Ledcor’s top sustainability priorities. Since our first GHG inventory in 2009, we have made numerous changes and investments that have helped us reduce emissions amid business growth and diversification. This includes making conscientious procurement decisions and exploring alternative, cleaner fuels.
Our participation in Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge is another step in our efforts to balance environmental responsibilities with economic growth. Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge is a Government of Canada initiative that encourages businesses to develop and implement plans to transition their facilities and operations to net-zero emissions by 2050. We believe that planning now for a net-zero future is essential.
