The 825 Pacific Artist Hub is a seven-storey award-winning, certified Passive House building with a single level of underground parking that provides creative space as a multipurpose arts and cultural hub. It offers 1,950 sq. M. (21,000 sf) of affordable production studios and office space for artists and non-profit organizations based in Vancouver. At only 34 feet wide, the building is situated in a tight space alongside The Pacific, a 39-storey residential tower also constructed by Ledcor.
Passive House is a leading standard in energy efficient construction requiring buildings to create near zero emissions in operation. The 825 Pacific Artist Hub is 100% electric with thermal resistant exterior walls, floor slab, roof and windows, which provide better soundproofing from street noise, and energy efficient mechanical systems including an energy recovery ventilator, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling systems, and low-ambient temperature air to heat pumps to provide better indoor air quality.
The 825 Pacific Artist Hub is currently the tallest commercial Passive House building in Canada and the first certified Passive House multi-purpose arts and culture building in Canada.
