Heap leach reclamation earthworks involved excavation and haulage to unweight slopes within the lined footprint, re-grade to 3:1 slopes, and importing of soil capping material from an onsite borrow area. Scope included potholing with excavators and surveying to establish the location of the edge of the liner, repair of previously damaged HDPE liner, and improvements to the drainage collection system.
The project is located in a remote region of Nevada at an elevation of 8,700 ft. This work entails strict adherence to the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection – Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation requirements.
