Ledcor Marine assisted with the construction of the Westridge Marine Terminal by providing tug and barge support for daily material movements and storage of construction equipment arriving from overseas. The construction of this terminal was completed by the Kiewit-Ledcor Transmountain Expansion Project Partnership (KLTP) and connected the Burnaby terminal by a 2.6 km long (1.6 mi) underground tunnel, also constructed by the KLTP.
This project required a significant amount of marine support by a majority of the marine operators in the lower mainland. It is a great example of the marine industry coming together to use their combined strengths to complete a complex project with many stakeholders.
The Woodfibre Construction Project: Ledcor Marine is currently supporting the Woodfibre LNG terminal construction project. Like the Westridge Marine Terminal, tugs and barges will be on site to support the overall construction process through the movement of materials and equipment, led by the Ledcor Constructors Group.
