Pinewood Toronto Studios Expansion

Pinewood Toronto Studios is the destination facility for domestic and international film and TV producers shooting in Toronto. The contemporary 490,000 sf (45,522 square metres) purpose-built production lot is located on a 33.5-acre (13.5 hectares) site, minutes from downtown Toronto in the Port Lands region. Its 16 purpose-built stages, including one of North America’s largest purpose-built soundstages – the 46,000 sf (4,274 square metres) Mega Stage – are soundproofed, clear-span and equipped with power and supporting infrastructure to accommodate productions of all sizes and budgets. Ledcor was contracted to manage the build of the latest expansion at the site with approximately 200,000 sf of production space across five purpose-built stages.

The project consists of two new buildings – 160,000 sf and 39,000 sf - plus the construction of new surface parking. The buildings house new sound stages, production offices, workshops, and other support areas. 

The exterior of the new buildings is comprised of several materials based on the intended use, with the stages being pre-cast concrete panels, the workshop spaces clad with insulated metal panels, and the exterior of the office space a mix of insulated metal panels and glazing.
