RIVER LANDING EAST TOWER
This project was the first of two office towers to be built at River Landing – a new mixed-use development that is revitalizing an under-utilized area along the shores of the South Saskatchewan River.
The 13-storey tower is steel and concrete with prefabricated glass walls atop a two-level podium and 3.5 levels of underground parking. It links to the neighbouring No. 1 River Landing residential tower through a central public plaza.
The sustainable design achieved LEED Gold certification and boasts significant energy savings and greenhouse gas reduction of 21 per cent. Environmental considerations include high-performance glazing and high-efficiency mechanical and electrical systems.
NUTRIEN TOWER
Nutrien Tower is the tallest building in Saskatchewan at 88 meters and is the second tower built by Ledcor in the River Landing mixed-use development. The 18-storey, office building is LEED Gold certified and its interior design & construction is LEED Platinum certified. Amenities include a rooftop winter garden and patio, fitness centre, state-of-the-art conference facilities, and commercial retail units including restaurants and a café. The building’s innovative design utilized sloped glass exterior walls that improve visibility to prevent migratory bird strikes.
Despite inclement weather challenges, COVID-19 supply chain issues, and significant work scopes added during construction, our team completed the project 2.5 months earlier than initially scheduled.
KW NASSER PLAZA
This world-class riverfront plaza provides public gathering space for tenants and residents of River Landing East Tower, Nutrien Tower, the adjacent Alt hotel, and No1 River Landing Condominiums. Landscaping includes unique paving patterns, fountains, native trees, plants, lawns, and several public amenities, including a feature trellis, lawn with a water wall, and seating areas.
