The Grand Rapids Pipeline system consists of two parallel pipelines, approximately 425 km (264 mi) in length, and a total of 850 km (528 mi) of pipe, from approximately 30 km (19 mi) northwest of Fort McMurray to the Edmonton area.
Ledcor entered into an Alliance Agreement with the Grand Rapids Pipeline Limited Partnership (through its agent TransCanada Oil Pipeline Operations Ltd.) to provide pipeline construction services for the proposed Grand Rapids Project. TransCanada has been a client of Ledcor for many years. Under this Alliance Agreement, Ledcor would construct approximately 850 km of the pipeline through November 2013 to April 2017.
The award of this Alliance Agreement to Ledcor requires approximately 1,200 employees at its peak, and $150 Millions of new equipment to see the $950 Millions project through to completion.
