The Suncor Coke Boiler Replacement Project consists of the replacement of three existing petroleum coke boilers with two new trains of cogeneration. The three original coke boilers date back to the 1960s and are highly integrated with the Suncor Base Plant assets. The High Voltage (HV) scope consists of completing the furnished high voltage equipment and infrastructure, upgrading existing Oil Sands Base Plant HV Systems, and linking/interfacing Cogen PIant to the Atco infrastructure and the Alberta Interconnected Electric System (AIES, the grid). This work supports a fully functional new cogeneration facility for steam production for Suncor Baseplant operations and power export to the Alberta grid.
