Ledcor has been rewarded for our distinguished safety performance on the Kearl Oil Sands Project, once again exemplifying our company's commitment to its safety slogan, "Think Safety, Work Safely". The Kearl project is jointly owned by Imperial Oil and ExxonMobil Canada and one of Canada’s largest open-pit mining operations. 

Over the past 3.5 years, Ledcor has emerged as a leading contractor at Kearl. Upon receiving the awards for distinguished safety performance, Ledcor was recognized by Senior Imperial Oil / Exxon Mobil representatives as being in the top three of Exxon Mobil global contractors. These successes can be attributed to the project team's collaborative approach to ensuring everyone gets home safely at the end of each shift. 

This latest award for Ledcor's "Exemplary Safety Performance" was presented on behalf of the full Kearl team. Ledcor employees Craig Boyd, Brendan Eggen, and Shannon Basso were also the recipients of the "Outstanding Safety Leadership" award. We congratulate them for their relentless pursuit of excellence, commitment, and inspirational leadership.

Ledcor is also proud to have the most consecutive overall wins of the Golden Nugget award. The Golden Nugget award is presented monthly to the site contractor with the best safety statistics based on a number of statistics, including number of incidents, number of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) conducted, observations and interventions submitted, and near-miss reporting.
