PRESS RELEASE - VANCOUVER, BC – The Ledcor Group of Companies (Ledcor) announced today the appointment of former President and CEO of TimberWest Forest Corp., Paul McElligott, to manage the company’s growing transportation and resource operations.
“Paul’s years of experience and success in the both the transportation and resource sectors are a perfect fit for Ledcor and our plans to diversify and grow in these areas,” said Ledcor Chairman and CEO, Dave Lede. “This is an exciting opportunity for us, and we are confident that with Paul’s direction, our tug boat and barge business, air transportation operations and our wood fibre alternative energy initiatives will thrive and be successful business operations for Ledcor well into the future,” he said.
Mr. McElligott has held the position of President and CEO, of TimberWest Forest Corp. since January 2001. Previously, he had been President and CEO of British Columbia's BC Rail Group of Companies, where he acquired extensive experience in BC's real estate, rail and intermodal transportation, telecommunications, and deep-sea port terminal sectors. Prior to joining BC Rail, he had been President of Montreal based Voyageur Enterprises Ltd., North America's third largest inter-city bus company. Mr. McElligott currently serves as a director of the Coast Forest Products Association, and he is a Governor of the BC Business Council.
