AUSTIN, TX - October 24, 2016 - Ledcor Technical Services (LTS) is pleased to announce the opening of its new US head office in Austin, Texas.
"We are excited to have moved our US headquarters to Texas. Austin is a great community and LTS is looking forward to growing our nation-wide business from this new vantage point," stated Trent Edwards, Senior Vice President of US Operations, Ledcor Technical Services.
LTS's move to the newly-built Austin location is a result of the rising demand for fiber optics infrastructure in the mid-west and southern United States. The telecommunications construction and servicing industry is growing significantly in the US, fueled by traffic increases, video streaming, mobile migration and the Internet of Things.
"With increasing demand for our expertise and solutions across the US, this office better positions us to service our customers from a facility more central to growing markets," said Edwards.
LTS will still maintain its California office in San Diego, home to the Ledcor Group's US corporate and construction division's headquarters.
"The opening of this new Austin office provides Ledcor with vast new opportunities and is well suited to our expected growth as the space can accommodate up to fifty-five employees," Edwards concluded.
THE LAKES AT TECHRIDGE
The new LTS Austin office is located within The Lakes at Techridge, a new development owned by Ledcor Properties and real estate investment partner Qualico. This two-phase, 179,000 square foot development, is 15 minutes north of Austin's downtown central business district, 24 minutes from the airport, and offers easy access to highway I-35.
LTS's new headquarters are located in the first building of the two-phase development. Construction of additional buildings is expected to begin this fall / winter. Designed by Austin-based STG Design and LUCE Architects, the building features a long rectangular glazed glass structure, enveloped by a delicate screen to temper the effects of the mid-day sun. With highly efficient heating and cooling systems, sustainable construction, and other energy efficient elements, the development is projected to achieve a LEED silver rating.
The Techridge area itself offers old-world charm through its historic architecture, while still maintaining a feel of elegance and comfort. In addition to the office buildings, there are over 1,200 apartment units, retail stores, a jogging trail, dog park and access to Lake Naomi. The district boasts many other amenities nearby such as restaurants, hotels and recreational parks, plus additional onsite food trucks.
