davisREED Construction, Inc. of San Diego, California and the Ledcor Group based in Vancouver, Canada announced today that davisREED has acquired Ledcor’s building construction business in Napa. 

“davisREED had been considering an expansion into the Napa and Saint Helena valleys for a few years.  The local market is very prestigious and appealing to our firm’s experience and expertise, said Derek Davis, President of davisREED.  “We are honored to have the team, led by Regional Manager Rod Field, as part of the davisREED family. With over 15 years of experience building wineries, restaurants, and mixed-use projects in Northern California, they are a wonderful addition to davisREED."

davisREED is no stranger to Napa, having recently completed Vista Collina Resort off Bourdeaux Way. This Four-Diamond luxury hotel expansion of the Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa Valley included a new four-story hotel with 145 rooms, 106 luxury rooms and 39 suites. The project also boasts a wine tasting village that comprises of a boutique market, a demonstration kitchen, an expansive new event lawn, and an outdoor pool area. 

“Our Napa business has a 20-year history of construction excellence in the local winery and hospitality sector, said Ledcor Construction President Peter Hrdlitschka.  “Many local landmark wineries, hospitality centers, restaurants and residences were constructed by Ledcor.  When Ledcor decided to focus its future US business investment on property development and the growing telecommunications construction sector, our Napa office became a stand-alone entity within our company.   We decided to look for a buyer with similar values and culture, and davisREED emerged as the ideal acquiring candidate for our company, our people and our clients.” 

The Ledcor Group is one of Canada’s largest construction and industrial operating companies with its US offices in Seattle, Irvine, San Diego, Austin, Lexington, Chicago and Kihei.  

“The purchase negotiations with Ledcor and operational review with their Napa team went very smoothly,” said Davis.  “We expect to formally close the acquisition by the end of June.” 

“Our transition discussions with davisREED have been very productive,” said Hrdlitschka.  “We believe that our existing clients and their projects will be in good hands.”
