What started out as a simple $1,000.00 fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Toronto's Home for Dinner program turned into a community event that raised over $10,000 and included a grand prize giveaway.
This year our LTS team in Toronto wanted to donate their time to prepare a home cooked meal for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Toronto. The Home for Dinner program began as a way to provide families with delicious and nutritious meals, right on site, to help make their long days at the hospital just that little bit lighter.
The original plan was to raise $1,000 to pay for the groceries needed, but as soon as the Ledcor LTS and Business Field Services teams got involved, so did countless other team members as well as friends, families, and generous Ledcor suppliers.
As the lead up to the event progressed, we received an ultimate Grand Prize giveaway from Milwaukee which included more Milwaukee Tools than one could envision for the workspace of their dreams. With such a great offer, we were able to surpass all the fundraising goals we had initially imagined. Our partners at Kal Tire, Bell, Grand Valley Tools, and Core Cabling also pitched in, with more donations and by volunteering their time at the celebration BBQ held on June 1st.
The $1,470 raised from our partners at Bell, Core Cabling and Grand Valley Tools provided us with more than enough to cover the costs of the dinner. Meanwhile, employees donated and raised $5,880 which was matched by the LTS Division so that we present Ronald McDonald House Toronto with a total donation of $11,760.
The Ledcor Home for Dinner was held on June 6th and the Ledcor Technical Services team provided the fastest service of any team to date. 150 people enjoyed the meal, and there were no leftovers!
We would like to thank Ledcor teammate Terry Meredith for championing such a great cause, as well as extend our gratitude to all of Ledcor’s staff, customers, and partners for contributing to such a supportive, uplifting initiative.
