Two truckloads of gifts were delivered to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau and the Make-A-Wish Foundation by Ledcor's Vancouver employees.
Year after year, the holiday season brings Ledcor employees together with toy drives and charitable donations for those in our community who can benefit most.
The 2015 season was no different, and at offices across Canada and the USA Ledcor teams demonstrated their caring spirit.
In Las Vegas, our staff rallied to support the 2015 ABC Holiday Toy Drive. During the collection period of December 7 – 11, the collection box and conference table started to overflow with toys for children aged newborn through 18 years old. In just one week, Las Vegas staff were able to exceed expectations in donations of new, unwrapped toys.
Our Regina office ran a toy drive this year for CityKidz, an organization that is committed to improving the lives of children who are living in poverty. Employees collected 27 gifts for children 5 -12. The gifts were delivered on December 9th—just in time for the CityKidz Christmas party.
At our San Diego office holiday party, in addition to celebrating, employees and guests from Murrieta and Irvine contributed an astounding 250 toys to Rady Children’s Hospital.
As well as toys, San Diego staff also organized a six week holiday food drive supporting Feeding America San Diego, collecting 162lbs of food or 135 meals for San Diego families.
Ledcor’s head office in Vancouver, BC invited all employees attending the annual holiday party to bring a toy or monetary donation to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.
As a result, two truckloads of gifts and $850 were delivered to the Christmas Bureau, and Make-A-Wish BC and Yukon.
Our Toronto office ran a toy drive for Toy Mountain and collected approximately 80 unwrapped gifts in the month of December. A local fire station distributed the gifts to the organization and recipients.
In Edmonton, our employee hamper drive was able to help a whopping 19 families get through the holiday season by donating turkeys, jams, soups, Christmas candies, and other staples such as apples, veggies, and potatoes.
In addition to the food, gifts were given to the families and their children, who were overwhelmed with joy and able to get through the Christmas season and into the New Year with a little more ease.
