On April 27th, 32 Ledcor staff, family and friends participated in the 10th annual Cadillac Fairview walk/run benefiting Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO).
Inspired by friend and co-worker John Di Battista who succumbed to cancer on March 4th, 2014, Team Ledcor walked in his honor and proudly sported his name on their shirts. They raised an impressive $33,480.00, including the corporate match, more than doubling the 2013 total raised. Two employees also took top honors for individual fundraising. Combined with their 2013 fundraising of $13,100, in the past two years Ledcor has contributed a total of $46,580.
POGO was founded in 1983 by a group of pediatric oncologists to champion childhood cancer care and control. As the representative voice of the childhood cancer community, POGO works to ensure that all of Ontario's children have equal access to state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment and required ancillary services. They also aim to make certain that Ontario's children have the greatest prospects for survival with an optimal quality of life.
