On April 24, 2016 Cadillac Fairview held their 12th annual walk/run to benefit Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) and SickKids Hospital. Ledcor was proud to participate with a team of 35, consisting of staff, family, friends, and children ranging from four months to three years old.
Joining the team was a member of Ledcor’s LTS group, Terry Meredith, his wife Janet and their two sons Dalton and Calvin. In 2015, Calvin was the lucky recipient of a successful bone marrow transplant at SickKids Hospital.
Calvin’s story and beautiful smile were terrific motivation for our team, and this year we were able to raise a grand total of $61,230. Congratulations to the entire team for their efforts, including three Ledcor employees who were also the top three fundraisers overall, Wes Steele, Ray Lawrence, and Johnny Jim.
A big thank you to the organizers, everyone who raised money and participated, and, most importantly, to those who donated.
POGO was founded in 1983 by a group of pediatric oncologists to champion childhood cancer care and control. As the representative voice of the childhood cancer community, POGO works to ensure that all of Ontario's children have equal access to state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment and required ancillary services. The lives of the children and families who they support provides continued inspiration for POGO, and is the driving force behind their purpose to provide the best care possible, from diagnosis, to treatment, and follow-up care.
