On May 22, 2015, 18 Ledcor Lightning Slo-Pitch players comprised of employees participated in the 25th Annual BC Children's Hospital Slo-Pitch Tournament at Softball City in Surrey, BC. They won four of their five games and earned the Friday Night Real Estate Division Tournament Championship title.
The Slo-Pitch Weekend is an annual softball fundraiser consisting of corporate teams. As many as 1000 participants are split into industry sectors in this annual event which spans three consecutive days following the Victoria Day long-weekend in May.
Through employee fundraising efforts, the generosity of our subtrades and suppliers, and our corporate donation matching program, we proudly donated a total of $26,900 to BC Children's Hospital Foundation. These funds go towards the hospital's most urgent needs including research, equipment purchases and upgrades, and education and programs.
Slo-Pitch has raised over $8.7 million over the past 25 years to support BC Children's Hospital's most urgent needs. 54 teams participated over this year's Slo-Pitch Weekend and a total of $228,000 was raised. Ledcor was the second highest fundraiser. With continued support from companies like ours, we are ensuring BC's kids receive the best care when they need it the most.
