On Sunday, May 31, Ledcor took part in the 31st annual IWK Telethon for Children. The telethon was broadcast live from the IWK Health Centre in Halifax and locations in Sydney, Saint John and Charlottetown on CTV. John Leitch, Project Coordinator for Industrial Construction, and his two grandchildren represented all contributing Ledcor employees at the event. They presented a $28,810 cheque to the IWK Health Centre Foundation that will go towards supporting the most urgent patient care needs at the IWK Health Centre.
These contributions were raised in last year’s employee campaign through personal pledges and local fundraising especially at two job sites in Fort McMurray, MEG and Kearl. All dollars raised were matched corporately by Ledcor.
CTV viewers from every corner of the Maritimes watched as the IWK Telethon for Children on CTV revealed an inspiring tally of $6.2 million raised. Ledcor’s employee and corporate contributions were reflected in the IWK Telethon total.
With our involvement in this year’s event, we are making a commitment to support children, youth and families in the Maritimes once again.
