Ledcor has been recognized by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) with three 2024 National Construction Awards, highlighting the company's innovation in the industry, commitment to workforce excellence, and community leadership.
Ledcor was determined to mitigate the numerous risks involved in Coastal GasLink's steep slope pipeline installation in the Coastal Mountains, and implemented the raise bore methodology which marked a transformative milestone in the construction industry. This innovative approach enhances safety, improves pipe installation quality, and cuts down on project schedule risks, all while reducing surface disturbances for a smaller environmental footprint.
“We are honoured to receive the CCA Excellence in Innovation Award for the groundbreaking work of our pipeline project team in adopting raised bore technology in their industry. This recognition speaks volumes about the typical dedication and ingenuity of the outstanding Ledcor team members. Our approach to innovation not only sets new standards but also demonstrates our commitment to pushing boundaries and driving positive change in our industry.” – Quentin Huillery, Chief Operations Officer, Civil, Mining, and Infrastructure
Ledcor’s commitment to creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture includes supporting five Employee Resource Groups to create safe spaces for learning and dialogue, and collaborating with organizations like CAN WiN, Trade Winds to Success, and Women Building Futures to actively dismantle stereotypes, promote diversity, and hire individuals from under-represented groups. Furthermore, Ledcor's Indigenous Affairs team builds relationships and partnerships with Indigenous communities where Ledcor operates.
With over 75 years of history supporting the communities where Ledcor employees live and work, community involvement has been a defining feature of the business since the very beginning. Investing over $24 million in the last decade to more than 200 charities across North America, the ‘Ledcor Cares’ spirit drives positive change and leaves a lasting impact. From annual Employee Giving Campaigns to charity events, Ledcor’s employees actively contribute to causes such as children’s healthcare, post-secondary education access, and food banks, raising $2.3 million this past year with Ledcor matching dollar for dollar.
