Our Canting Process

While high-end logs from our forest tenures are earmarked and sold to dimension lumber mills, Ledcor turns the lower value pulp logs into custom-sized cants, wood chips, or biofuel.

As part of our canting process, we:

• Trade high-end logs for access to lower quality pulp logs
• Purchase logs from local logging contractors and forest companies to be processed at our Chilliwack Canting Facility.
• Work with local logging contractors to identify and then log and sort timber
• Send pulp logs to our Chilliwack canter facility for further processing into cants and wood chips
• Sell cants either domestically or export them overseas

We currently process the cants at our Chilliwack Canting facility.
