Enbridge Centre is the first office tower constructed in Edmonton’s Financial District in more than 20 years.
It is also the first post-tensioned tower built in Alberta in decades. This structural system allows for longer floor spans without columns, creating optimal floor plate functionality and allowing natural lighting to carry more easily through the space. The system also generates more leasable floor space for our client, and by using less concrete and reinforced steel, it provides superior structural integrity and allowed for a fast-tracked construction schedule.
New construction technologies were used to restore the heritage façades on the existing Kelly and Ramsey buildings that were badly damaged by fire in 2009.
Enbridge Centre is targeting LEED Gold certification for Core and Shell. Earning this certification would place it among an elite group of highly sustainable buildings in Edmonton, of which Ledcor has worked on many.
