Two Awards for Bob Walker

CALGARY, ALBERTA AND SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Ledcor’s own Bob Walker has taken home both the prestigious 2012 Alberta Construction Person of the Year Award and the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) Community Leader Award. 

Bob is the vice-president of Ledcor Construction for northern Alberta, and over the years has played a key role in some of Edmonton’s highest-profile construction projects, starting with city hall in 1992. His most recent projects include the recently completed Art Gallery of Alberta and Epcor Tower as well as the new Royal Alberta Museum. 

The Alberta Contractor of the Year Awards were presented in Calgary by Merit Contractors Association, Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association, and Alberta Venture magazine. 

This year’s CCA Community Leader Award was presented in Savannah, Georgia and is designed to recognize the contributions of people across Canada whose work benefits their communities and the industry as a whole. 

Bob’s extensive volunteer activities include serving as chair for the Kids with Cancer Society in Edmonton, on the Senate for the University of Alberta, as a member of the Women in Construction Committee for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and on the City of Edmonton’s Business Advisory Committee.
